Here, Simon W talks about his much-loved Argon 18 Gallium Pro:

Specification: Argon 18 Gallium Pro disc 15th-anniversary edition.

"It’s a mouthful of a frame name. First spotted late 2019, I knew this 2020 model bike would be top of my list.

It’s not my first Argon 18, and it won’t be my last. My first being the 2015 gallium pro (rim brake) bike equipped with Campagnolo super record and fulcrum racing zero wheels. I loved that bike, it was my first proper 'superbike' (and also super light), but it just didn’t make sense anymore with me essentially using it as my 'wet weather' spring bike.

The appeal of the gloss hit me as soon as I saw it. Having been deep into matte finish frames for so long now, my need to polish something was growing. The transition from black to titanium was faultless as is the smooth decay of the argon logo.

Still mesmerised by the tiny pencil like seat stays of my original gallium Pro, now with no brake bridge, they look even more magnificent.

The Argon 18 pro is essentially a classic-looking bike, so I decided not to condense it with super aero parts. I instead opted for a bar and stem combo that would give all-day comfort, while keeping the weight aligned with the gallium’s weight weenie heritage. The Zipp SL-70 ergo carbon bar and SL speed carbon stem provide that with looks that matched the frame."
