The Castelli Idro Pro 3 is a workhorse jacket, designed to be worn from the start of your ride through to the end when the rain just won’t let up. However, that’s not to say it can’t be packed away if the weather does improve, it’s still light, at 178 grams and easily packable.
When it comes to keeping the rain out, the GORE-TEX® SHAKEDRY™ fabric works brilliantly. Completely waterproof, it sheds rain better than any other. And with fully taped seams too, there’s no jacket better at keeping you dry inside. It’s not just the waterproof performance that creates comfort though. Breathability is just as vital. And here the Idro pro excels too – put in some race-winning efforts or drop your training partners on a climb and you won’t be left drenched in sweat.
When it comes to the fit, Castelli keeps it ‘pro’ too. Shakedry fabric has no stretch, so in order to get an aero fit, Castelli uses Stretch GORE-TEX® Topo side panel, shoulder, and sleeves. This gives extra flexibility where you need it most and delivers the non-flap aero fit, saving you precious energy on your long base-building rides. At the wrists, internal gaiters also offer a snug fit and a secure seal against the elements.
Practicality comes by the way of two external pockets, perfect to stash items you know you’ll want throughout your rides, such as energy gels and bars. A longer tail also adds extra protection from rear tyre spray and a YKK® Vislon® waterproof zipper makes it easy to control ventilation. With reflective details, you’ll be easier to spot as the light fades too
